Policies & Terms
At Break Relief Sitters and Nannies, our goal is to ensure every family enjoys a seamless, safe, and joyful experience. Please review our policies carefully before booking. By confirming your reservation, you agree to the terms below.
Deposit Policy

Clients who book 15 or more days in advance are required to submit a deposit to secure their booking.

Deposits are refundable only if canceled 14 or more days in advance.

Cancellations made within 12 days of the booking date will forfeit the deposit.
Remaining Balance

The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your scheduled service.

Payments must be made using the same method as the deposit.

Please email breakreliefsitters@gmail.com to confirm your payment and finalize your booking.
Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 30 or more days before the scheduled service are eligible for a full deposit refund.

Cancellations made within 12 days of the booking will not receive a refund, regardless of reason.

No refunds are given for same-day cancellations, late arrivals, or unused time.
Late Policy

If you’d like to extend your session, please ask your sitter at the beginning of the booking. If they are available, an additional invoice will be sent.

If you’re 15 minutes or more late at pickup, an extra hour will automatically be charged.
Illness Policy

If your child is experiencing fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious illness, services must be canceled or postponed.

If your child becomes ill during care, your sitter may end the session early and notify you to return immediately.

Partial refunds are issued for illness-related cancellations initiated by the client.

If your assigned sitter becomes ill, a replacement will be arranged. If a replacement cannot be found, your booking will be refunded.
Parking Policy

For hotels with high parking costs, we suggest adding the sitter to your room reservation for discounted or free parking.
Scheduling Policy

Your confirmed time slot is held exclusively for your family.

You are responsible for the full cost of the scheduled time, even if you arrive late or finish early.

Minimum booking: 4 hours for all services.
Holiday Pricing
An additional $10/hour applies for bookings on the following holidays:

Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Jamaica (August 6 and August 1). Labor Day, Jamaica (May 23). Thanksgiving, Boxing Day, Heroes Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve.
Theme Park Reservation Policy (California & Orlando Services)

If the theme park requires a reservation for entry, Break Relief Nannies will arrange their own.

In the rare event that we cannot secure a reservation, you will be notified and refunded.
Tipping Policy
Tips are optional but appreciated.

You may tip in cash or ask your nanny for her preferred method (Venmo, CashApp, etc.).
Safe Sleep Policy
We strictly follow AAP safe sleep guidelines for children under 12 months:

Babies are placed on their backs

Crib or pack-n-play with a fitted sheet is required
-
No loose bedding, pillows, or toys (sleep sacks are acceptable)

Temperature should be 68–72°F (20–22°C)

Contact sleeping is permitted only if no safe sleep space is available, and the parent consents
Jamaica-Specific Policies

Visitors/Locals: Must provide full payment 10 days before service.

Locals: Must provide ID for verification.

Travel logistics: Nannies are familiar with local customs and attractions. Excursion safety and structured child engagement are top priority.

Transportation fees (if applicable) will be discussed prior to booking confirmation.
General Terms

All caregivers are CPR-certified, background-checked, and trained in special needs care, including autism spectrum sensitivity.

Break Relief reserves the right to terminate care without refund if a sitter feels unsafe or disrespected.

By booking with Break Relief Sitters and Nannies, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
Last-Minute Booking Policy ⏰
We understand that sometimes plans change or emergencies arise — and we’re here to help when we can! Last-minute bookings are accepted based on availability and are subject to the following policy:
⚠️ What Qualifies as a Last-Minute Booking?

Any booking request made within 72 hours (3 days) of the desired service start time.
📋 Policy Details:

Rush Fee: A $25 last-minute booking fee will be applied to all bookings made within 72 hours.

Full Payment Required: Full payment is due at the time of booking to confirm the nanny.

Service Availability: We will do our best to match you with an available sitter, but last-minute availability is not guaranteed.

Non-Refundable: Last-minute bookings are non-refundable, even if canceled, as sitters block their schedule on short notice.

Booking Form & Child Info: You must complete the full booking form and child intake information immediately upon confirmation.
